Canzona No 13
Renaissance. This triple-choir work has no technical difficulties, but the tessitura of the first parts is high and the bass parts are low. The availability of trombone or horn parts makes it possible to mix the instruments in any combination. This can serve to alter the sonority and tone color, and to solve range problems. By using horns and adding tubas to the low parts, it becomes an effective work for low brass choir. -kbe/cdp
